Dear OVAL Community,

As you may know, the OVAL Board directed a governance working group to discover and define a new language governance process (see [1]). During the first quarterly board meeting on Thursday of last week, there was a seconded motion for the OVAL Board to adopt the updated governance process.

The ballot to adopt the updated OVAL language governance process has just been sent and the voting will close at midnight, February 16, 2018.

Should the vote pass, the governance working group will begin implementing the process, so that we can practice it for a period of about three months and then start using it shortly thereafter.

The governance update working group and the OVAL Board believe that adopting the proposed process changes will ultimately result in an easily updated language that serves users of all kinds equally well.

Kind regards,

Adam

Dear OVAL Community,

The OVAL Board vote to update the language’s governance process has carried with thirteen “yes” votes and zero “no” votes. Consequently, the governance working group will begin implementing the process over the next several months. We’ll periodically keep you informed of our progress.

Kind regards,

Adam
